Miss Seven

Little Miss Seven changed her name to Little Miss Eight! We were at their house today for her special day. What special fun it is to be with our grand daughters. Believe me, they are GRAND!

This is spring time in Michigan. And to think we left the sunshine, and warmth, and palm trees, and flowers, and sunshine, and warmth of Florida to come home to this, and my root canal. It must be true, what everyone says about me. I'm crazy!

I made the 41st block for Celtic Solstice, and can now finish piecing that quilt. Turns out I had most of an extra block already together in pieces and parts. So there was only one small section I had to piece from scratch, then put it together. Woo Hoo!

Now you can see the circles of blue. This quilt is much busier than my usual work. If I had known how many pieces Bonnie Hunter usually has in her quilts, I'm not sure I would have attempted it. I'm glad I did. First working with a mystery quilt, then how many pieces, and I did it using Inklingo. So a lot of new things for me. I definitely went outside my comfort box on this one.

Thanks,
Lin

I didn't realize you had been in Florida :) yes it looks like awhile before Michigan looses the snow. I think that is why I haven't made a Bonnie Hunter quilt - I would really have to watch layout so carefully. I like her things though.

Your quilt is beautiful. I wish I could do something like that. A little too much (translate way too much) piecing for me. Love the colors you have chosen.

Your CS is beautiful. This one was my first BH mystery too, I wasn't prepared for all the small pieces either.

Stunning, Lin. I'm sure you all had a great time for your granddaughter's birthday. My grandson is 3 next week and we are going up to the Midlands for his party next Sunday. Can't wait.

Your Celtic Solstice quilt is going to be GORGEOUS! I love that the colors are sun-drenched and happy. Summer is on its way, no matter what you see outside your window. :-)

I feel for you... Coming home to snow and the dentist. But your Solstice quilt is very pretty! Glad to hear you are soon going to have that top completed. It is completely stunning!

Your quilt looks beautiful and the first time you do one of Bonnie's mysteries it does seem like a lot of pieces but the end result is worth it. I think you should head back to Florida and bring us some warm weather! Thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful quilt, just as others have mentioned in their comments. I am from the mitten state originally and am now living in Florida. I have been loving reading the different perspectives about quilts and quilt making here online. I hope the spring in Michigan quickly thaws for your comfort and that of my family. :)

I can't wait to see this all revealed. It may be busy, but it surely is gorgeous!

Thanks so much for showing this off at Needle and Thread Thursday!
