What Color Thread Do You Use?

When you are piecing, say, a scrappy quilt, or at least multi-colored, what color thread do you use? You can't keep changing threads to go with each scrap. For decades, I used Coats and Clarks' off white. Last year I got started using a soft gray. I think it blends in with more fabrics better. Now I really like to use Superior's Bottom Line, but didn't bring any with me. The Bottom Line takes up less room in the seam. I don't have to worry quite so much about the "turn of the cloth" in HSTs.

What do you like?

I'm linked up today with Crazy Mom QuiltsConfessions of a Fabric  Addict/Whoop Whoop Friday and Richard and Tanya Quilts.

Thanks,
Lin

I end up using white, sometimes my bobbin will be whatever I happen to have left.

I only ever use cream or silver grey for piecing. One or other works every time unless of course the fabrics are very dark and I use black. Saves money and space storing all different shades and colours.

I use Aurifil 50 wt thread in an off white color for everything. It's thin and strong. A bobbing lasts a good long time because it is so thin. It is expensive but when you compare how much you are getting on the spool, it's not that much more.

I also use a neutral color, white, cream, or soft grey for piecing. But my question is what do you use when quilting, FMQ? Especially if you have blocks on the backing too? Any suggestions?
