The thing I miss about EQ, however, is that it does not give you directions on how best to sew these pieces together. I'm kind of inventive/creative/been quilting for a long time, so I was able to work around this.
Here are the 4 blocks made for the Jump Start.
The fabrics are all from stash, so they don't go together at all. I kind of like the turquoise/orange square. The colors POP. Don't think I could stand a whole quilt made from that.

Our quilt club had a small quilt show today. They asked us all to bring in quilts to hang. I hung 5. It seemed like there were quite a few hanging. Fifty? This is what I had showing:A Flimsie |
Completely finished. |
Look at the difference! We always hear, "It isn't a quilt until it's quilted." I'm surprised at the diffference.
I'm linking this to Lorna's blog, Sew Fresh Quilts, since this is her pattern.
Thanks,
Lin

Love the quilts you put in the show, especially the black and white square one. THat would be a great quilt for a fella xx
I have EQ7 but I have never been able to figure it out to the point that I am comfortable with it, I have to refer back to the instructions constantly to the point that it isn't fun - so I just plain don't use it - to me it was a total waste of money - I'm always glad to hear though that there are quilters out there that do like it though.
Great job on those Jump Start blocks, Lin! I agree.... That turquoise and orange block is quite attractive - love the contrast. Congratulations on getting the EQ7! How fun to get to see a quilt show with your quilt club. Thanks for sharing those with us, too! And your mini quilt finish is awesome. Love how you quilted it - really makes those colours pop!
We just ordered a new computer and I think I'm going to be making an EQ7 purchase soon. Looks like I have a lot to learn!
Nice quilts! Good job!
I love the star quilt!
