Sew Mama Sew and Giveaway!

I'm linking up  with Sew Mama Sew today for her Giveaway! YAY!

I have packed up my projects for travelling, and this year, I remembered to bring them with me! Last year I left everything at home. What a bummer that was! My projects keep me (relatively) sane, with something to keep me busy.

I brought Christmas ornaments to make, and 2 quilt tops to work on.

There is a difference in the two pictures, one shows the fold in the edges, and one doesn't. I made a bunch of these. Every year, I make ornaments for the grand daughters. They each have a collection now, someday when they move out on their own, they'll have a Christmas collection to start with. They'll be able to look at them and say, My Grandma loved me.

This is one of the quilt tops I brought to work on:

Now, for the Giveaway info!

Cheryl Brickey of Meadow Mist Designs has kindly offered to supply me with some of her fantastic, magnificent patterns as Giveaways!
To enter, make a comment below telling me about your favorite holiday tradition. For a second entry, follow my blog, and let me know how you are following. If you are already a follower, just let me know how you follow. The Giveaway will be open for one week.

I think my favorite holiday tradition is actually St. Nicholas day. Even as my siblings and I get older, we love sitting on the floor listening to our parents tell us the story before heading to bed. In the morning, we wake up early to see what we got in our stockings. Its usually silly stuff like little kid note pads and fuzzy socks but that chance to be a kid again is priceless. :) Thanks for the giveaway.

We spend Christmas eve with my sister's family, attending church together and having my husband's homemade clam chowder. It is a little calm before the crazy of a large family Christmas.

My favourite Christmas tradition would have to be making my late grandmothers secret Frozen Christmas Pudding. It comes with rules... once a year only at Christmas and the recipe is only to be shared with family who can be trusted to keep the tradition and the secret always. It is a great honour to be trusted with the recipe and I am one of very few descendants trusted with it at the moment.

Spending Christmas Eve with my husband's entire family, from his parents to our great-nephew. Everyone really tries to get home for Christmas Eve, but as our children grow and leave the state, it becomes more difficult!

Going to the mountains to get the Christmas tree. Having cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas Day. Setting up the lights inside and outside the house. Trimming the tree. Going to see the Christmas lights. The ships lit up... all of December is one huge tradition that we all look forward to. Love Christmas!

Hi there Lin,
I love, love decorating the Christmas tree. It was my job when I was your-on the first day of Christmas vacation from school, I would light and decorate the tree. When my parents came home from work that day, a beautiful tree greeted them. I think it is because of that that I started collecting homemade tree ornaments. I now have a lovely collection filled with memories.
Fast-forward to now…I am on a small disability pension and my Hubs works the equivalent of part-time. We also have a teenaged son. Due to financial circumstances, we are unable to buy a tree this year, so the hubs came up with this: he took our patio umbrella and stand into the living room, opened the umbrella part way(so that the tips are still pointing at the carpet) and wrapped the christmas lights all around, finishing with the star at the top. It's not a real tree, but it is something made from the heart.
Thanks so much for the giveaway,
Jacqueline in Pitt Meadows
