FLOWERS IN MID-SUMMER

I guess it is mid-summer. When I was a kid, I thought summer was half-over on July 4. We didn't go back to school until after Labor Day back then. Now I know a lot of kids going back mid August. We always had half days the first half week of school. Ease you into it.

My flowers are doing OK. It's been a strange year. Black-Eyed Susans are just now coming into bloom. Late for mine.

Here are some of my flowers just a-blooming away:

Baby's Breath. When I worked at a florist, a guy asked for Baby's Breast. I had a hard time not giggling.

See the Baby's Breath behind them?
What's the common name for this one? I know it's heuchera.
I'll spare you and give you some more flower pictures another day.

Thanks,
Lin

that last one you show I have it too and I have totally forgotten what the common name is but then I forgot the real name too!
Here it seems we have had such a mild wet cool summer no one is even calling it summer! Yesterday i had a light sweater on when I was doing errands - unheard of for the last of July in Arkansas - today more of the same - everything is growing and green compared to the normal drying up at this time of year that it usually is.

love the flower pics. I didn't know heuchera had a common name. I've never heard them called anything else xxx

Your flowers look beautiful! I remember starting school after Labor day too and now my grandchildren start around August 17th.
